TOLEDO POLICE AUTO AUCTION

 

 

Below are basic guidelines for the Toledo Police Impound Auctions.

 

 

·        We do not know anything about the mechanical condition of these vehicles. Therefore, all vehicles are sold AS IS (without any warranty) and ALL SALES ARE FINAL (there are no refunds for any reason).   The new owner is responsible for the vehicle after the sale is completed.

 

·        All vehicles have salvage titles except for those marked “City”.

¨      Inspections by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which incur a $50.00 (plus sales tax) inspection fee, are required for all vehicles with salvage titles. A handout explaining the inspection procedure will be provided upon purchase.

 

·        Terms of the sale will be cash or check only.  You must pay the FULL amount due upon purchase.  Dealers and individuals purchasing more than one vehicle may wait until the completion of the auction and pay for all vehicles at once.

·        Before the auction starts, all persons interested in bidding MUST REGISTER (for free) at the Auctioneer's trailer.  A driver’s license or a state issued ID card must be presented at the time of registration, which begins at 9:00 a.m.

 

·        After the bidding is completed, you must FIRST report to the auctioneer’s trailer and make FULL payment. The title(s) will then be issued at the impound lot office upon presentation of the auctioneer’s receipt and picture I.D. Enter the impound lot office through the “Police Only” door.

 

·        All persons paying cash will receive titles upon payment. All other titles will be mailed to owners in three to four weeks, after checks have cleared. Persons paying by check will be thumb-printed.  We will only accept personal checks from Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, or West Virginia.

 

·        Third Party checks WILL NOT be accepted!

 

·        Keys, if any, will be provided with the titles at the impound lot office.

 

·        Successful bidders must inform auction officials (at the auction trailer) if they are leaving the premises prior to making payment.

 

·        YOU CANNOT start, attempt to start, or remove a vehicle from the lot, until the auction is completed. The auction will be completed after ALL vehicles are sold.

 

·        Any vehicles not removed from the auction lot by 3:45 p.m. on the date of the auction, must be removed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. the following day.   FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL TOW AND STORAGE CHARGES.
