The Field Operations Division (Field Ops), consisting of the Central, Northwest, and Scott Park District Stations, is responsible for handling calls for police service. Field Ops is the heart of the Department. Officers are responsible for the direct delivery of police services to the citizens of Toledo. In recent years, the building and maintaining of community partnerships has become a useful tool when pursuing new methods of addressing neighborhood problems.
Field Operations utilizes several patrol strategies: foot patrol, Mounted Patrol, Bicycle Unit, Harbor Patrol, motor vehicles, and the Aviation Unit.. These diverse strategies have served to enhance partnerships with the community. By getting more officers out of vehicles and into the neighborhoods, more direct citizen contact is possible.
