Sherman Smith
(033134-08) On June 8, 2008, Sherman Smith was found near 621 Sterling unconscious and unresponsive. A 911 caller had discovered Smith lying in the middle of the street on Sterling at approximately 2:30 am. The caller also observed two unknown males kick at Smith. They were yelling at him to get up. When he did not respond they pulled him out of the street and laid him on the grass. The males then ran to a nearby house. Smith was not found by emergency personnel until 8:00 am and was suffering from severe head injuries. Smith succumbed to his injuries on June 20, 2008. Although not ruled a homicide at this point it is being investigated as one.
