The police department maintains a staff of officers to serve as liaison with the Toledo Municipal and Lucas County Common Pleas Courts. The Court Liaison officers also perform the important function of reviewing precipes in order to minimize the number of court appearances by Department personnel.
By limiting officers' court appearances to those cases which are expected to go to trial, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been saved.
