Data Driven Policing is a modern law enforcement tool that is on the cutting edge of technology.  Data is pulled from several sources to learn not only where crimes are occurring but also where they are likely to occur.  Using this analysis helps the Department allocate resources in a highly efficient manner that enhances routine patrols and keeps our community safer.  The Criminal Intelligence Section is the heart of the data driven policing process, civilian analysts work side by side with officers to collect and then interpret crime data to paint a clear picture of current crime trends. The constant flow of data comes in from sources such as crime or field investigation reports and is then analyzed before being disseminated back out to the various units responsible for the area involved so immediate action can be taken.
