The Records Bureau, under the direction of
Captain George Taylor, collects, processes, and stores
departmental records and reports. The Records Section
is located on to the first floor
of the Safety Building at 525 North Erie Street.
The hours of
operation are:
7 AM - 4 PM Monday thru Friday
Weekends and Holidays - Closed
The Records Bureau provides citizens copies of accident or
incident reports while they wait. There is a $3.00 charge for a standard two
page report (cash, check or Money Order accepted). If you need additional information, the
Records phone number is 245-3100.
The Records Bureau is where you would go if
you need to:
- Walk-in crime reporting in
non-emergency situations will be completed at the Records Section or any
District Station.
- Walk-in traffic crash
reports when police were not called on-scene will be
completed at the Records Bureau or a District Station. Private property
accidents are no longer completed at the Police Department.

- Fingerprinting for
employment purposes. (cost: $12.00)
The Toledo Police
Impound Lot is where you go if
you need your vehicle released:
- To get your vehicle
released (if it was towed by the police department) you
need the title, the registration, proof of insurance on
the towed vehicle, and picture identification. If your vehicle has a
police holder for Hit/Skip, Forfeiture, Driving while Intoxicated or Driving
with a suspended license, or any other investigative
holder, please contact 419-245-3187 for further instructions.
Impound Lot location is
198 Dura Ave.
The hours of operation are 8am - 2:30 pm daily, including weekends.
