Minimum Requirements
- Applicant must be between the ages of 21 and 34
- Applicant must have a High School Diploma or
GED equivalent at the time
of application
- Applicant must be a resident of the City of Toledo
within six (6) months
of appointment.
How to Qualify
- Applicant must pass a written civil service examination
- Applicant must pass an extensive background investigation
- Applicant must submit to an oral interview
- Applicant must pass a complete medical and
psychological examination/evaluation
- Applicant will be required to pass a physical agility test.
Physical Agility Test Standards For All Police Officer Candidates
- 1.5 mile run to be completed within 15:14 minute
- 300 meter run to be completed within 64.07 seconds
- 31 timed sit-ups to be completed within 1:00 minute
- 22 push-ups (no time limit)
- Bench press 61% of body weight with one repetition

- One year Hourly Rate: $22.10

The Toledo Police Department is also seeking qualified men and women to serve as communications operators and police records clerks. These positions provide the opportunity to work for the Toledo Police Department in a non-sworn capacity. Communications operators and clerical personnel perform critical functions necessary for the Toledo Police Department to accomplish its mission.
