Traffic Section |

The Traffic Section, under the command of Lieutenant Kevin Keel, is comprised of 2 Sergeants, 13 Patrol Officers, and 2 civilian commercial vehicle enforcement workers.

| Traffic personnel are assigned to the Central District station. Traffic Section is located in the Safety Building at 525 N. Erie St. |

The Traffic Section is responsible for traffic enforcement, hit skip accident investigation, commercial vehicle enforcement, taxi and tow truck inspections, abandoned vehicles, parade permits, photo enforcement program, and adult school crossing guards.

Radar and Laser technologies are utilized to detect speeders. The Police Department utilizes MPH K-55 radar units and LTI 20/20 Ultralyte Laser Units.

|
Traffic officers are trained Injury Crash Investigators. Many traffic officers are trained as Traffic Crash Reconstructionists. These officers investigate serious injury or fatal traffic crashes. |
