The Operations Division is commanded by Deputy Chief Kevin Braun.

The Operations Division is made up of the Community Services Section, Central District Station Field Operations, Scott Park District Station Field Operations, and the TPD Traffic Section. Operations Division officers are the most visible part of the Toledo Police Department, from street patrols to Block Watch meetings.  Every 911 call for service is handled by the Operations Division, over 213,000 calls a year.  Operations Division officers enforce City and State ordinances, provide assistance to citizens, and respond to vehicular accidents throughout the city.  Toledo is broken into eight geographical areas (sectors) and patrols are assigned to the sectors depending on call volume and crime statistics.

The Community Services Section is commanded by Lt. Richard Trevino.  The Community Services Section’s primary objective is to promote organizational strategies that support the use of partnerships and problem-solving techniques to proactively address crime and quality of life issues, and to improve relationships between citizens and police. The Community Services Officers (CSO), Police Prevention Team Officers (PPT), School Resource Officers (SRO), and the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol Officer (RSVP) make up the section. CSOs attend neighborhood watch meetings, work closely with community members and businesses, and address citizen complaints. PPT officers work to divert at-risk teens from entering the juvenile justice system, SROs work in the high schools to mentor students as well as keep them safe, and the RSVP officer, along with volunteers, work to assist the elderly in the community. The section offers the following community programs: Brains and Body, Safe-T-City, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP). The section also provides support to Toledo Neighborhood Block Watch, and S.T.R.I.V.E., Toledo, Inc.   Click here for more information on Community Services Programs.
