The Toledo Police Public Records Office processes requests for information under the Ohio Public Records Act. These requests are for the release of 911 audio, police video, archived reports, or bulk (three or more) reports. All other report requests should be made in person at the Records Bureau or through the U.S. Mail as outlined here.
If an ongoing court case is involved, records requests must go through discovery before material may be released. Also, internal TPD complaint investigations must be closed before related material may be released.
A Public Records Request Form must be completed for each request. Forms are available at the TPD Records Section in the Safety Building, at the address below. Online forms may be found here. Assistance with completing the Public Records Request Form is available by calling (419) 245-3148. Completed forms may be emailed, faxed, hand delivered, or mailed to the Toledo Police Public Records Office.
