Identity theft happens when someone steals your personal information and uses it without your permission. It’s a serious crime that can wreak havoc with your finances, credit history, and reputation — and can take time, money, and patience to resolve. If you take action quickly, you can stop an identity thief from doing more damage. Click HERE for the Ohio Attorney General's Identity Theft Help Guide.

There are several Identity Theft Protection services available that monitor all your basic information for a low monthly rate, and even offer mobile tools to help you stay connected on the go.

Some of the companies will also provide computer protection software as a bonus, which is especially useful since the majority of us are always connected to the web. Although the right solution for each person depends on what features they value most in an identity theft protection service, the second link below provides reviews and comparisons of some services (not affiliated with Toledo Police Department).
